  • Available to any active Maine State employee working at least 20 hours per week.
  • GUARANTEE ISSUE – NO MEDICAL QUESTIONS!
  • Eligible employees can choose benefit amounts up to 60% of base weekly earnings.
  • Benefits begin after the 15th day for both accident and illness and are available for a full year!
  • Benefits are received tax-free.
  • Low cost coverage for off-the-job accidents and illnesses, including pregnancy!
  • Partial Disability Benefit- available if you return to work at partial capacity
  • Pre-existing conditions covered after 12 months (based on whether treatment was received during  the 12 months prior to insurance effective date.)

  • Decertification Forms are COMPLETELY CONFIDENTIAL!

    Many employees have voiced their concerns over whether MSEA would see who signed the decertification forms call "showing of interest" forms. The answer is ABSOLUTELY NOT. The only people who see these forms are the people who have collected them and the Maine Labor Relations Board (MLRB). The MLRB cannot disclose who signed the forms to any 3rd party entity.  MSEA will not know who signed the forms. read more...
